For over 70 years the William Hill Winter Festival has been THE Christmas race meeting. The event attracts crowds in their tens of thousands and 2009 promises to be another feast of excitement as jump racing’s superstar, Kauto Star, aims for an unprecedented fourth straight win in the William Hill King George VI Chase. Kauto Star pulled clear of Albertas Run to claim a hat trick of consecutive King George VI wins last year and will break Desert Orchid's 19 year old record if he repeats the feat on Boxing Day this year. With three Grade 1 races, the best of the best racing, on Saturday, December 26 alone, the William Hill Winter Festival attracts top trainers, jockeys and horses alike and for so many race fans it is all they can think about over the holiday season. The 25th December becomes merely the final day to cross off on the calendar before the action begins but whatever your level of interest in racing, this is one festive festival you cannot afford to miss!
