Drayton's Magical Christmas
The festive season has arrived and Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, is inviting families to join in with the Christmas celebrations at its popular Thomas Land attraction.Drayton's Magical Christmas (Saturday 28th November 2009 to Sunday 3rd January 2010*) will see Thomas Land transformed into a winter wonderland, providing visitors with festive music, colourful decorations, snow machines, and a free Christmas gift for all children under nine.
There's also a brand new film in the 4D Cinema called The Light Before Christmas.
Families can also take a trip on Thomas, Rosie or Percy to Farmer McColl's Farm and meet the resident reindeers.
The park's ever-popular zoo will also remain open
during this period. As a home to a wide variety of animals, including penguins, big cats, reptiles, and primates, the zoo has something for all animal lovers.The main theme park will remain closed from 2nd November and will re-open on 20th March 2010.
New for 2009
A sensational 4D Effects Cinema that uses the latest in technology and film content to ensure the ultimate cinema experience.The cinema allows the audience to watch a movie in 3D while seated in specially designed chairs, which react to scenes in the film by moving up and down, releasing sprays of water, bursts of air, bubbles and various smells.
Drayton Manor is also the home of Europe's first and only Thomas Land™. Based on the popular Thomas & Friends™ books and characters, this specially created attraction features 12 themed rides, including a Thomas the Tank Engine train ride. There's also a wonderful indoor play arena, café, an outdoor play area and shop.
For thrill-seekers, Drayton Manor boasts some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around including The Bounty, G-Force, Maelstrom, Pandemonium, Apocalypse, Shockwave and Stormforce 10.
Meanwhile, for lovers of the animal kingdom, Drayton Manor Zoo has more than 100 species from around the world, including big cats, reptiles, and primates.
Drayton Manor Theme Park was named Large Visitor Attraction of the Year (West Midlands region) at the 2008 Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards.
