Coventry Toy Museum is housed in Whitefriars Gate which was built in 1352 as the postern gate to the Carmelite Friary. The gateway has been put to many uses including as dwelling houses, shops and a gallery.The Museum houses a wonderful collection of toys dating from 1740 to 1952. These toys have been collected by Ron and Sonya Morgan over many years and comprise a wide and interesting assortment.
The collection
of toys is growing with each day and will soon be, if not already, one of the finest collections in the country. The Museum is constantly searching for interesting items and will be pleased to receive or purchase old or unusual toys.
