Chester Zoo is the UK's no 1 charity Zoo. Packed with 7,000 rare, exotic and endangered animals in 110 acres of award-winning gardens, Chester Zoo is a fantastic and stimulating day out for all ages.

Philippine Crocodiles - This freshwater crocodile, found only in the Philippine islands, is one of the most threatened crocodile species in the world. Their new enclosure is in the Tropical Realm. For spectacular colour and a whole new sensory experience, visit the Butterfly House and Gardens home to up to 30 different species of exotic and native species.

The zoo is open all year round from 10.00am except Christmas and Boxing Day.Last admission times vary with the seasons - from 3:30pm in mid-Winter to 5:30 in high Summer. Please telephone the Zoo for further details. The Zoo closes 1.5 hours after the last admission (1 hour in December/January). |

Car parking is free. Restaurants, shops, monorail and summer time boat bus. Facilities for disabled visitors, including self-drive electric scooters and wheelchairs. Low, medium and high prices are now avaliable, please see Chester Zoo website for your date of visit. |

By Road: From the M56, Junction 14, or M53 Junction 12, follow the brown signs to Chester Zoo. The postcode you should enter for Satellite Navigation Systems (Sat Nav) is CH2 1EU. By Public Transport: By Rail: Chester Main Line Station (Arriva Trains Wales, Arriva Cross Country, Merseyrail and East Midlands Trains)Take a taxi (approximately 2 miles), or a bus to the Town Hall Bus Exchange, and then, First Group Service 1, every 20 minutes Monday - Saturday during the daytime. On a Sunday the service runs hourly and on Bank Holidays every 30 minutes. Bache Train StationThe No. 1 bus operated by First, runs every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 60 minutes on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Leave Bache station using the ramp which will lead you to Mill Lane, the bus stop is near the Post Office. Special combined Zoo/Bus/Train tickets sold from all manned Merseyrail Stations.
