Canonteign Falls |

Canonteign Falls,
in the beautiful Teign Valley near Exeter, was the home of the first Lord Exmouth, Vice Admiral of England, a title he shared with Lord Nelson.
Reputed to be the highest waterfall in England, Cannonteign Falls cascade down massive rock formations through wonderful path-strewn ancient woodlands where you might glimpse a deer amongst other abundant wildlife.
Gentle pathways meander
through pastures with many species of irises, orchids and rare plants down to a cluster of fascinating lakes which provide homes for fish, kingfishers, otters, dragonflies and butterflies.
An indoor activity garden, domestic animals paddock and play areas scheduled for Easter 2005 are near the terrace, courtyards, café and gift shop. Some areas are accessible to disabled persons and there are
a few escorted buggies to travel the pathways.
Guided tours, trails and education visits are a speciality of a visit to a "place for all seasons". Dogs on lead are very welcome.
