Borde Hill Garden |

Colonel Stephenson Clarke sponsored 'the great plant hunters' of the nineteenth century who brought back trees and shrubs from all corners of the world. Through his foresight and hard work, the visitor can experience a world-renowned botanical collection, surrounded by stunning Sussex countryside that has hardly changed in the last hundred years.
Registered as a Grade II Garden and Park by English Heritage, being of special historical interest, the many distinctive and individually themed 'rooms' make Borde Hill Garden unique among England's great gardens. A place of national importance and of great beauty. Discover a touch of romance in the Italian Garden, marvel at our roses, retreat to the sub-tropical paradise of the Round Dell and experience the microclimate and the splendour of magnificent trees and shrubs from the Himalayas and the Andes.
200 acres of spectacular parkland with panoramic views are home to many rare plants and Champion Trees (the largest or tallest in the country). Take a lakeside walk or enjoy your picnic overlooking the parkland. Wander beyond the formal gardens into the woodland gardens to witness the full glory of the collection. Indulge yourself with a splendid lunch at Jeremy's our award winning restaurant. Even when the sun fails to shine, the Africa and Peach glasshouses provide warmth and insight into the depth of the collection.
