As featured on TV, this multi award winning museum has a great deal to offer visitors.
As well as one of the largest collections of engines in Europe - varying in size from desktop to 100 tons! - it has changing exhibitions and events throughout the year. See our website for details of the events and exhibitions.

We will open outside normal dates and times for pre-booked tours & groups, including evenings.

By Car: Approx 7 miles from junction 1 and 9 miles from junction 3 of the M60. Follow Brown Tourist Signs from Poynton Traffic Lights. By Bus: Take the 391 (was 191) to the Boars Head, Higher Poynton, and 10 minutes walk down Anson Road to Museum entrance. By Canal: Bridge 15 on the Macclesfield Canal. Nearest Train Station: Middlewood Station (then walk down the Middlewood Way, approx 1 mile) or Poynton Station 2 miles. |
